New KSB Women’s Imaging Center Now Receiving Patients
The new KSB Woman’s Imaging Center is now open, bringing exciting changes to serve the Dixon community and surrounding areas. The new location in the KSB Annex provides women with increased privacy and comfort, new equipment, a refreshment area, and streamlined imaging services, all in one convenient location.
Patients no longer need to enter the hospital for their mammography services. Instead, they can register right in the Women’s Imaging Center. Patients will park in Lot 3 and enter through Door 1. Services include 3D mammography, bone density scans, and breast ultrasounds.
With the addition of two new 3D Mammography machines, one with Stereotactic Core Biopsy capabilities, staff can receive more patients and decrease wait times. “We’re excited to offer expanded services that will benefit our patients and staff,” says Haeffner. “Getting the latest in 3D technology gives us the peace of mind that we’ve invested in the best equipment possible for our patients.”
All imaging equipment is new and up-to-date, with the exception of the bone density unit purchased in 2020. “With the addition of a second 3D Mammography unit, we can increase available appointment times for our patients,” says Ann Lorenz, Lead Mammography Tech. “We look forward to caring for all our returning patients and welcoming new patients to our expanded location!”
“This new space was designed with patient privacy in mind, and provides us with more room, enhancing the work environment,” says Ray Sharp, VP and Chief Information Officer. “This is the first phase. The next will include spaces for radiologists and a radiology reading room, consultation privacy areas, and physician offices.”
