RMS Students Donate “We Care Kits” to KSB
Fifty Reagan Middle Schoolers from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes gathered on Friday, March 16th in the RMS library to assemble 100 “We Care Kits” to be donated to the KSB Cancer Care Center.
The project idea stemmed from Reagan Middle School’s Climate Committee – a group that is focused on bringing positive values and actions to the school to promote a safe environment for teaching and learning. Recognizing the importance of volunteering and community involvement, the idea was formed to create care kits that would provide comfort and support to newly diagnosed cancer patients in our area.
Throughout the month of February, students raised money and donated supplies for the “We Care Kits,” purchasing items like word puzzles, hand sanitizers, lip balms, notepads, and mints. KSB Community Wellness aided in the donation by providing bags, reusable water bottles, and packable blankets.
Using an assembly line set-up, the middle schoolers efficiently packed the goods into each bag before signing their name on a “Thinking of You” card. Students also created “Get Well Soon” cards for inpatients staying in the hospital.
