KSB Hospital Foundation Donation Makes a Difference in the Life of a Special Needs Child
The KSB Hospital Foundation raises funds to support KSB’s mission to restore, maintain, and enhance health by providing superior care now and in the future. Through the Foundation, donors invest in KSB hospital, clinics, and the health of the community.
“Philanthropy fits so well into KSB’s culture of giving, and it’s gratifying to know our contributions can make such an impact in someone’s life,” says Abby Martin, Foundation Coordinator. “I’m very proud to see how much our employees care through their donations. It’s been exciting to see the growth of the Foundation over the last few years, and I’m looking forward to all of the great work we can do in the future.”
RECENT P-POD CHAIR DONATION
A P-Pod Chair is a home seating device that provides optimal postural support offering a more comfortable alternative to a wheelchair. In March, Jennifer Pillars submitted a funding request to the Foundation on behalf of a special needs patient. Quinton, a 3-year-old with Cerebral Palsy, was outgrowing his medical stroller. Jennifer believed this chair would improve the quality of Quinton’s life.
“Having this chair for Quinton has helped so much,” says Quinton’s mother. “He can sit, relax and be comfortable in the P-Pod chair several times throughout the day whether he is eating via g-tube, watching tv, or practicing fine motor play and eye-gaze learning. If he becomes upset while seated in the chair, he can extend without being restricted to a seated position. We are very grateful to the EEG Staff and the KSB Foundation!”
Foundation-supported donations since 2019 also include:
- Advanced Ultra-Violet System Sanitizers
- Two Employee Recharging Rooms
- Pediatric Four Vessel Ultrasound Training Block
- Covering the cost of patient prescriptions and transportation
- Newborn Welcome Baskets
- Remote Patient Monitoring System
- Early Learning Literacy Program
- P-Pod Postural Support System Chair
