Dr. Mustapha Honored with Preceptor of the Year Award

Congratulations to KSB Gastroenterologist, Dr. Fadi Mustapha, who was recognized as the Family Health Center’s Community Preceptor of the Year during the open house celebration for our graduating FHC residents. Every year through this award, the residents recognize the contributions of a non-family practice physician and the impact they’ve had on their education at KSB.

“Dr. Mustapha was recognized for his excellence in teaching and mentoring while working with our residents,” noted Dr. Joyce Johnson, Family Health Center Physician. “They have enjoyed rotating with him and his didactics lectures. His contribution to the residents’ training is invaluable!”

“This is the second time I receive the community preceptor award since I joined KSB Medical Group and it means a lot to me,” noted Dr. Mustapha. “It is rewarding to feel that the teaching time and effort I spend is appreciated by the residents and the program. I have always enjoyed teaching since I was a medical student and in my opinion teaching medical students and residents is a responsibility and an expectation for attending physicians. Part of being a caring physician, in addition to taking good care of your patients, is to pass the clinical skills, knowledge and experience to the next generation of providers like students, residents or advanced practice providers. Teaching also benefits the teacher as well, you must master a subject  before you teach it.”
