Department Spotlight: KSB Housekeeping
Another of the many departments at KSB who work quietly behind the scenes is the KSB Housekeeping team. This year more than ever, their team has played a crucial role in helping to keep both patients and employees safe during the COVID-19 outbreak and deserved to be recognized for all of their hard work during National Healthcare Environmental Services week!
Each day, KSB’s Housekeeping team of 28 is responsible for maintaining over 400,000 square feet amongst all the KSB locations. Not only do they keep waiting areas and exam rooms clean and tidy, but they are responsible for sanitizing and sterilizing patient rooms, surgical suites, and imaging areas as well as support areas like conference rooms, offices, corridors, and bathrooms.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the housekeeping team has increased their diligence in disinfecting high-contact areas such as waiting room chairs, tables, door handles, and floors to prevent the spread of illnesses. Each team member plays an essential role in ensuring KSB’s facilities are properly maintained and safe, and they deserve to be recognized for the true heroes that they are!
