Congratulations to KSB DAISY Award Winner Gracie Jaurez
Since 2013, KSB has awarded the biannual DAISY Award to an exceptional nurse within the organization for their dedication and compassion. Of the 15 nominees this round, Gracie Jaurez won the award for many reasons, including her willingness to go above and beyond for her patients and their families, her positive attitude, and her professionalism. KSB is pleased to honor the incredible work extraordinary nurses like Gracie deliver in the direct care of patients and their families.
Gracie has been with KSB for nearly three years, working in the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. Kristin Kaufman, Inpatient Behavioral Healthcare Nurse, recalls Gracie as a new nursing graduate who joined the KSB team feeling a bit uncertain about her ability. “Gracie went into nursing because she has always been drawn to helping others. After completing nursing school, Gracie knew she wanted to work in Behavioral Health. We have been privileged to see her grow and flourish throughout her nursing journey. Gracie is sensitive, compassionate, and emphatic, which enables her to care for and advocate not only for her patients but also for her coworkers. In addition to providing outstanding care, Gracie is the first to step in and ask her co-workers what she can do to help them.”
Gracie goes the extra mile with all her patients every time she works. Whether a patient needs additional help feeling comfortable or extra effort to feel safe, she works to build a rapport to determine how to best care for them. Because of her care, patients feel safer and more cared for, which improves outcomes.
“Gracie is a hardworking, compassionate team player who will always advocate for her patients and co-workers,” says Inpatient Behavioral Health Director Kristina Conder. “Our team has the privilege of watching her continue to grow daily in her role and see what a tremendous asset she is to 2 East and KSB.”
Gracie, thank you for the compassionate care you provide patients and their families at KSB. We are proud to honor you and show our appreciation. Congratulations!
