Mental Health Services
KSB’s outpatient multidisciplinary team consists of psychiatrists, psychologists and licensed clinical social workers.
We offer extensive behavioral healthcare services, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. We treat individuals of many age groups including: adults, adolescents, and children six years of age and older. Appointments can be made with a referral from a physician or by calling our office.
What is Telepsychiatry?
Technology allows KSB to provide psychiatric care close to home. Telepsychiatry allows our psychiatrists to assess and treat patients conveniently in our outpatient clinic. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in mental health. Psychiatrists are qualified to assess both the mental and physical aspects of psychological problems. Telepsychiatrists, unlike our counselors, can prescribe medication.
How Do Telepsychiatry Services Work?
This advanced technology is similar to video conferencing with special attention to confidentiality. You will be in a private room with a computer and video camera. The psychiatrist will be in a private room at another location with the same type of equipment. You and your psychiatrist will be able to see and speak to one another. How is Telepsychiatry Different Than Seeing a Regular Psychiatrist?
There is very little difference. The only difference is not physically being in the same room together. Technology allows your psychiatrist to have access to your medical record and to make recommendations based upon that information.
